How can I type my Apple ID for my watch on my phone as characters are impossible to enter on watch?

Seems the qwerty keyboard is only available for Apple watch 7 and higher

How to enter password for Apple Watch on IPhone I have a series 6 Apple Watch and a iPhone 13 max pro. The watch wants to update, but to continue with the update, I must first enter in my Appleid. I cannot find the place on my phone where I can enter my ID. I recall doing this some time ago, but I cannot recall how. My password is complex, so the scribble method will not work (though I haven’t come across that method either). Can anyone help?
