Unknown email address in my auto fill?

I was logging into an app on my phone and my email address along with another address I don’t recognize appeared in the autofill options. To be clear, this has never happened before. I logged into this app maybe a month or two ago with no issue and now this random person is in my autofill. I don’t recognize / do not know this person or this email, and absolutely no one aside from myself has touched my phone to check their email or use this app. The only apple product I have is my phone.

I checked my own contact card and the only email address there is the one I use. Out of curiosity, I went to my mail app to see if maybe I got an email from this person a long time ago and it just saved it for some reason, but while they automatically show up as though they are somewhere in my inbox, they can’t be found in any inbox. It’s really weird and I’m concerned as to why this is happening out of the blue. As a test, I logged out of another app and didn’t get that person, so I think it’s just for this one (for some reason?) any idea as to why this is happening?

iPhone 11, iOS 16

Hello sarahmu,

Have you ever used the 'Hide My Email' with Sign in with Apple? If you're unsure check out information about it below and found in the article here: What is Hide My Email? - Apple Support

"How Hide My Email works

Hide My Email generates unique, random email addresses that automatically forward to your personal inbox. Each address is unique to you. You can read and respond directly to emails sent to these addresses and your personal email address is kept private.

  • If you create an account with an app or visit a website that supports Sign in with Apple, you can choose to share your email address, if you're familiar with the app or website, or hide your email address, if you'd prefer more privacy. If you choose the Hide my Email option, only the app or website you created the account with can use this random email address to communicate with you.

  • With an iCloud+ subscription, you can generate unique, random addresses on your device with iOS 15, iPadOS 15, or macOS Monterey or later in any email field in Safari. You can also generate email addresses on-demand in the Settings app in iOS or iPadOS, in System Settings or System Preferences in macOS, in the Mail app, or on iCloud.com. In iOS 16 or iPadOS 16 or later, you can also keep your email address private in third-party apps. Learn more about iCloud+. "
