Loading Cloud Music Library is taking hours and hours

A couple of weeks ago I imported some tracks into my Music library, but their cloud status remained on 'waiting' for a week. I was advised to go to File/Library/Update Cloud Library. However, the 'Update Cloud Library' command was greyed out.

I looked on these community pages for a solution to that, and many people said that I should go to the account menu and sign out and then sign in again. So I did that, and now, 12 hours later, I'm just looking at a notice 'Loading your Cloud Music Library. This may take several minutes'. All the cloud status icons have disappeared, except for a few 'removed from iCloud' and 'not eligible'. No 'matched' or 'uploaded', as there was before.

This is a real pain. How can I fix it?

Hey TimK.

Let's check in safe mode if you haven't already. Safe mode helps determine whether the issue is related to the software that loads as your Mac boots up. The steps are in this article: How to use safe mode on your Mac.

After testing in safe mode, restart the Mac normally, and check for improvement. If there are any VPNs, firewall software and any security software installed, disable them during this time. They may be interfering with the connection to the Apple servers.

If the issue continues, we recommend contacting Apple Support. They will be able to further investigate this with you and work towards a resolution. To contact Apple Support, click here: Contact - Official Apple Support

Take care.

Hello TimK,

Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities. We see you have some questions about loading your iCloud Music Library on your Mac, and we'd like to help. If your library is bigger, this can take some time, and is dependent on your internet connection. We'd like to have you start by making sure your computer is authorized, with help here: Authorize or deauthorize your computer for iTunes Store purchases This helps with any music that was previously purchased with iTunes.

Also, the steps in the following link can help with how to Access your music library on all devices.

Let us know if this helps.

Regards.

Thank for answering.

I have now had the "Loading your Cloud Library. This may take several minutes" for 26 hours.

There is nothing wrong with my internet connection. Apple Music was working fine before, and two years ago it uploaded quite quickly even though it is nearly 200Gb. But recently I noticed that songs that I imported were still signed as 'waiting' to be uploaded to the cloud. I saw that 'Update Cloud Library' was greyed out, so decided take some advice to sign out then sign in. But then all the Cloud status symbols disappeared and I am still waiting.

I have authorised this computer. I got a sign saying it was already authorised, but now it is reauthorised. I now have "2 computers authorised to play content purchased with this Apple ID" and 4 devices that are "associated with this Apple ID and able to download purchases or subscription content".

I have made sure that the Sync Library Tick box is ticked.

I'm not sure what else I can do.
