MacBook Pro Black Screen -ESC shows

My MacBook is just 5 years old. It has a black screen, and the ESC key is lit up. (An estimated grand to resolve this fault.)

The bad news is Apple does not cover this, nor will they address the diagnostic report.

Much to my amazement I was told by Apple Support that 5 years is an acceptable life expectancy 😲
