Search in mail not working

Since updating to Ventura 13.2.1, I've discovered that search no longer works in mail. In Spotlight, mails are also not found. I've tried restarting, re-building and even reinstalling Ventura. But nothing seems to work.

Any ideas anyone?

By rebuilding, did you mean the Spotlight index?

Does Spotlight work correctly otherwise?

I rebuilt the mail index. Spotlight works otherwise fine. Just not seeing any mail messages.

Are Mail messages selected in the Spotlight settings. Maybe they got removed somehow.
