iPhone 14 in quickly dropped in kitchen sink in water 14 hrs ago and immediately grabbed it out and dried off, it works however 6 hrs later could not plug in lighting cable into phone to charge, why?

No idea about that. I suggest that you make an appointment (*) and have your device+charger+cable inspected at an Apple Store or AASP (Apple Authorized Service Provider) among this list:--> Apple – Location Selector. After checking it out, they'll give you all the available options.
