Importing CD to MacBook Pro

I've purchased a Gotega external CD drive for my MacBook Pro. I am running Ventura 13.2.1.

I cannot locate the CD drive and the CD will not import songs. When I insert a CD into the drive, it just keeps making noises as if it's processing the data. When I run the music app and try to import songs, I cannot locate the external drive. The only options I see are "internal" drives.
