Thunderbolt 2 Drive on Mac Studio M1 ultra.

Hello,

I've just turned on my brand new Mac Studio M1 ultra.

I've connected my Pegasus32 drive > thunderbolt 2 cable >

Apple Thunderbolt 2 to Usb-c (thunderbolt3) adapter. I tried front and

back ports.

Nothing happens and the drive does'nt mount.

The drive works perfectly with my old Imac and with my macbook pro with the same adapter and cable.

The drive does power up when I plug it into a newer Thunderbolt 3 compatible computer, so the drive seems fine. Is this combination of cable and adapter just not going to work with the newer drive? External USB-A drives aren't firing up my new Mac Studio - fix? I just got a new Mac Studio - but there’s a problem. As you know, there are two USB-C ports on the front, and a bunch of ports on the the back. The two USB-C ports work fine. But when I plug my powered USB-A drives into the back, they don’t fire up. I verified that a few smaller, non-powered USB-A backup drives fire up just fine. But when I try to fire up either of the powered drives (a Seagate and a G-Drive), they don’t seem to work. I have two questions: How can I make my old drives using the USB-A slot work on the Mac Studio? If I get new drives, how do I transfer the content from the old USB-A drives to new USB-C drives - if my Mac Studio doesn’t recognize them? Thanks!

OWC Thunderbay will load but not mount on Mac Studio I have a 96TB OWC Thunderbay external drive that uses SoftRAID software to run. I just transferred from a late 2013 MacPro to the Mac Studio. The Thunderbay will load into SoftRAID but won't mount. I've tried multiple cables including Apples fastest USB-C. Uninstalled and reinstalled SoftRAID multiple times. Would love a solution if anyone has had success.

The Apple Thunderbolt-3 <-> Thunderbolt-2 adapter does not pass POWER in either direction. Connected drives must have an independent power supply.

Some people have reported that downloading a driver from Promise has worked.

Sadly that didn’t help me and I’ve gone to different RAID cases.
