Deleting iMessages from iCloud

I've reviewed a lot of articles relating to purging Messages from iCloud backup, but they seem to be referencing previous versions. I've got an iPhone 12 mini running iOS 16.3.1 and Messages 14.0. Diving into Settings it's showing me I have (after deleting a lot of my threads entirely, from what I can see from my end) only ~410MB of data being used for Messages, but iCloud is claiming I am using 4.55GB for them. I've disabled the Sync option to stop adding additional Message history to my "full" iCloud account, but I cannot account for the discrepancy. I used the option to Disable & Delete, but it's telling me that I have to wait 31 days until the messages are deleted from iCloud? Is there a way to expedite their deletion?

It appears that the messages were finally deleted from the iCloud backup. But it did take overnight to reflect this on my phone. Not ideal in terms of "instant gratification" but still better than the 31 days I feared I was going to have to wait. I consider this matter resolved* (*for now ;-P).

It would be better if you can please re-post with a screenshot, in order to understand the phenomenon better. Images/pictures speak louder than words.

Please understand this is a public forum: While attaching a Screenshot, do not provide any personal credentials, such as IP address, Card detail, email id, apple id, IMEI number, Serial Number, Phone number, Order ID, if you are sharing a map ensure your location is not identifiable, etc.

With the limited information that you have provided, It is hard to even guess the problems faced by you.
