Magic keyboard function keys stopped working

I've seen a few thread about this issue but none seem to fix the issue. My external magic keyboard function keys stopped doing what they're assigned to do (volume, brightness etc) and instead do various other things or just make a 'beep' sound.

Hi migo33,

Have you tried restarting your Mac and/or unpairing and pairing the keyboard again? This can help with minor software issues. If things persist you'll want to make sure the keys are mapped correctly. You can learn how here:

"macOS Ventura

Choose Apple menu  > System Settings.
Click Keyboard in the sidebar.
Click the Keyboard Shortcuts button on the right.
Click Function Keys in the sidebar.
Turn on “Use F1, F2, etc. keys as standard function keys”."
