Updating from 10.11 on Mac destop

I have an older Mac desktop which I don't use more than maybe 1-2 hours a day. Google says to update to OS10.13 as I now have OS10.11. I don't think Apple will update due to the age of my computer. Is there any other way. Can't afford a new computer. Thanks.

About this Mac says:

OSX El Capitan Version 10.11.6

iMac (20 inch, Early 2008)

Processor 2.66 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo

Memory 2 GB 800 MHz DDR2 SDRAM

Graphics AT1 Radeon

HD 2600 Pro 258 MB

I realize it's an oldie (like me) but the screen and graphics are still good, but... lol

Thank you again for your help!
