Is Emergency SOS via satellite to text available via Series 8 watch?

Can you help? Is the series 8 able to communicate via satellite emergency text messages?


When I was considering to buy a series 8 watch in the Apple Store the person helping me told me that one of the benefits of the series 8 is that you are able to use the use emergency SOS via satellite to text emergency services


I was a little surprised that it could do this and bought the watch. I've been unable to find confirmation that it can. Seems like you can only do this using the iPhone 14.

No, the Emergency SOS via satellite is a build in option on the iPhone 14. This function is not available on the apple watch series 8
