How can I block Tik Tok from my kids phones?

I want to block my kids from downloading Tik Tok (and any other apps). I have parental controls set to disallow their use, but they are still able to use it. I see that I can allow specific apps. Why hasn't Apple provided a straight forward way to block apps that parents do not approve???

Specifically ones that were previously downloaded "With Content & Privacy Restrictions in Screen Time, you can block or limit specific apps and features on your child's device." This statement from Apple's own support page is a lie. You absolutely CANNOT block specific apps on your child's device. There is NO option for a "Don't Allow" list. There's NO way to limit specific app time to anything less than 1 minute per day. The only way to entirely block an app is to restrict the age rating, but then EVERY app with that age rating will be blocked. This is absolutely maddening. Does anybody who is actually a parent of real-life children have anything to do with developing Apple parental controls? Am I missing something? Someone please correct me if I am wrong, but as far as I have been able to discover, Apple's level of parental control on apps is unforgivably inadequate.

Allow NON-built in apps on a parental controlled device Hello, hoping someone can help as this has been asked many times but I can't find an answer.... I have an iPad set up with parental controls configured for a 4+ year old. I want to keep all the content restrictions but allow a single app - BBC iPlayer - which is a 12+ app. This app has it's own PIN-protected kids filter once signed in so I have no need for the app itself to be blocked. This is a NON-built in app so there is no way to add it as described in Use parental controls on your child's iPhone, iPad and iPod touch – Apple Support (UK) - this often-posted link does not seem to offer the functionality I am describing above. I do not want to turn off content restrictions or set them to a higher age level - I just need a way to whitelist a specific (NON-built in) app. Any help would be gratefully received. Thanks!

Bypassing parental controls Hello We have been using parental controls in family sharing but seems kids are one step ahead and finding ways to get around them. Also, it is very easy to just google articles like this below. https://www.familyorbit.com/blog/bypass-parental-controls-on-iphone/ So the question is what is Apple doing about all the ways to circumvent these? Any ideas how to keep them on and stay on?

If you already have set Family Sharing so that your children cannot download apps without your permission. Then simply hide the TikTok app in the App Store.

As a Family administrator, you decide which apps your children can see in the Purchased overview, on your profile.

1. Open the App Store

2. Tap on your profile picture in the top right corner.

3. Select Purchased

4. Find the TikTok app, swipe from left to right on it, and select Hide.

If your children still have the TikTok app on their iPhone, then you need to delete it manually. But after that, they do not have the option to redownload, as it has been removed from the overview.
