Is the device that it's asking you to confirm your Mac or a different device? If it's for a different device, do you still use this device with the same Apple ID?
If it's referencing a device you no longer use, you can sign into the Apple ID website and remove the device you're seeing the alert for. You can sign into the Apple ID website here: Apple ID Sign In
Once you've removed the device, if that's the case, go ahead and restart your Mac and check for the same alert.

I am having the same issue. There is no box to confirm the device password and I have since sold the old Macbook air I transferred my data from. I checked and I only have my current items on my device lists.
