iPhone 14 Overheating when connected to Apple CarPlay

I have an IPhone 14 and every time I’m charging it in a vehicle it overheats and gives me a notification that pausing is charged until the phone returns to a normal temperature. It’s happened in multiple different vehicles with multiple different cords including Apple chargers. I travel frequently and use Apple CarPlay often but every time I use it, my phone overheats. I know this can’t be good for the phone, what can be done to help this?!?
