Receiving calls on Apple Watch 8

I have the exact same problem--I can call out, but still cannot receive calls on my new apple watch 8 paired with my iPhone 12 pro max. All software versions are current. I've checked with the Genius Bar and my phone and watch are set up correctly. I've been on the phone with ATT several times now. Tried to reinstall the EID and eSIM. Paired and unpaired the devices multiple times and powered down the devices each time.

While working with ATT, the last time, they were able to call me on my watch while my phone was turned off but then it stopped working immediately when my husband tried to call me. I got disconnected with ATT after this and now I don't know what to do. Every time I call them, I have to start all over... VERY frustrated.

Same exact problem here too on Apple Watch Series SE. Watch will work fine with iphone nearby. However, with phone turned off or not in bluetooth range, apple watch can make calls but not receive them. Have been to multiple att and stores and an apple store. Spent hours and hours trying to get this to work. Apple sent a replacement watch but it does the same exact thing. It's an att issue for sure, there are just few and far between, if anyone, that works there that knows how to fix this.

2. You mentioned updating both your iPhone, and your watch. The latest versions are watchOS 9.3.1 and iOS 16.3.1. Are these the version numbers installed in each device under Settings > General > About?

just got an apple watch se as well with att and same problem.... no store employees can fix it.. so frustrating
