Notes Disappeared

All of the notes I had on my notes app are gone. Now my notes app just shows folders for each of my email accounts which there are no notes showing. That isn't how the notes app looked before. It just had notes and wasn't distinguishing email accounts. I've updated to the latest OS and I'm still having this issue. I went into icloud to see if I could find the old notes but when I click on Notes in icloud it says icloud email needed. Any ideas on how to get those old notes back?

Recovering Lost Notes:

If you have lost the notes, then here is what to try...

A. Start Here: If you're Missing Notes on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

B. Restore from a Backup:

Did your ever back up your iPhone with these installed? If so, back up you could back up your iPhone, and then restore it from the backup.

C. iCloud in Settings: Look in iCloud settings in each device, and make sure that Notes is clicked. If it is, then unclick it, and then click it again.

Unfortunately I don't recall what they were synched under. I think they were connected with on my iphone but i'm not sure. I had had those notes for a very long time and I don't recall how it looked. It looks completely different now because it as if the whole notes app was completely wiped. Now when I open the notes app, it has a folder for all of my different email accounts but they are all blank with no notes. Everything that I had before is gone and there is no recently deleted section because its as if the app was just reset back to zero.

Please check your email accounts that store all your notes. They are synced to Google, iCloud, AOL, Exchange, Outlook, Yahoo or any other etc.

Where were the Notes that you lost? See the pic below. You will get your answer.
