Hello Apple_User1221,

You can use the steps below to set up the email account that you use for your contacts:

1. In the Contacts app  on your Mac, choose Contacts > Add Account.
2. Select an account type or, if you don’t see your account type, select Other Contacts Account, then click Continue.
The list of internet account types you can add to the Contacts app: iCloud, Exchange, Google, Yahoo, AOL, and Other Contacts Account.
3. Enter your account information.

Make sure the Contacts checkbox is selected for the account.

You can also find those steps in this resource: Add contacts from iCloud, Google, and more to Contacts on Mac - Apple Support

If your email account is already set up and enabled for syncing your contacts, you can also use the steps below to make sure the All Contacts list is selected: View your contacts in Contacts on Mac - Apple Support

In the Contacts app  on your Mac, do any of the following:
• See lists: Choose View > Show Lists to see lists in the sidebar.
• See all contacts: Select All Contacts in the sidebar. This list compiles contacts from different accounts into one list.

Hopefully those steps put you on the path to having all your contacts on your MacBook.

Take care.
