Editing Apple Preview App: Freezing, Crashing

Apple Preview has major issues when I use it and i depend on it as a teacher:

When I annotate the app with text or text containers, then move the text containers, the movement is not smooth and fluid, it seems as if the text boxes are being counter-pulled, and are super slow (on PDF).

The Apple inevitably freezes and stops responding, I cannot quit and I am subsequently to force quit the app. This slowness uses up a lot of valuable time as I am freelance teacher who teaches in 1 or 2 hour increments, so it eats up valuable time from our lessons and we rely on PDFs to teach.

File sharing is also a nightmare now: I used to easily share and control the share settings but now it has become a very complicated process that is a hit or miss: The share settings assume that whoever I am sharing to is another Apple user and does not immediately show the options to share with non apple users (the majority of my students don't have Apple products).

I used to love using Apple Preview and now it has become a sluggish complicated nightmare to use.
