Closing an ipad

How do you get your iPad to turn off when you close the cover?

Your iPad contains a sensor that detects the proximity of a magnet that must be present in the iPad cover. Not all covers have the embedded magnet. Unless the cover is explicitly states capability, it may not be able trigger this function. Apple Smart covers - and many third-third party cases/covers - do incorporate the required magnet.


You must also enable the lock function from iPad settings:

Settings > Display & Brightness > Lock / Unlock - set to ON
