Lightening to sd card reader

I’m having trouble getting photos onto my iPhone 11 (iOS 16.3) via my apple lightening to sd card reader. When I plug the reader into my iPhone nothing comes up in my photo gallery or Files app.

many ideas?

Hello,

Hmm, make sure that the reader is connected properly. Check the charging port for lint or other debris (use a bright light and a toothpick).

If everything is connected properly, the photos app should open automatically:

I had a look at the terminal on the phone, and even though it looked cleaned I took on your advice and cleaned it further. Although, I am still having the same problem of not being able to connect the sd card reader to the phone. I have heard it could be due to the latest software update? Could you confirm this?
