I accidentally deleted my login passwords last night, I cannot find a file in trash, is there any reason why I cannot restore the keychain folder from time machine - it seems obvious but most of the web advice ( some of it conflicts) does not propose this why?. I have a MBP + Mojave 10.14.6
Finder alone may not be able to restore it properly.
Use Time machine.app (not to be confused with Time machine preference pane). This will keep the file's very unusual permissions intact.
