Is there any way to download a full installer of OS X Mavericks.

I can't seem to find a full installer for Mavericks anywhere on the website. How do I access it?

Hi i333cat,

We appreciate you reaching out to us.

This link provides some information on How to download macOS. You'll find links to all of the versions Apple has made available below:

"When you use these methods instead of Software Update, your Mac might need more storage space to download macOS and complete the installation.

Ventura 13

Monterey 12

Big Sur 11

Catalina 10.15

Mojave 10.14

High Sierra 10.13

  1. Click the link to open the App Store page for that macOS.
  2. In the App Store, click the Get button to begin downloading the macOS installer.
  3. After downloading to your Applications folder, the installer opens automatically. Follow the onscreen instructions to install macOS.

Sierra 10.12

El Capitan 10.11

Yosemite 10.10

Mountain Lion 10.8

Lion 10.7

  1. Click the link to download a disk image (.dmg) file for that macOS.
  2. Double-click the .dmg file to open it and see the .pkg file within.
  3. Double-click the .pkg file, then follow the onscreen instructions. This installs the macOS installer into your Applications folder.
  4. Open your Applications folder and double-click the macOS installer, named Install [Version Name]. Follow the onscreen instructions to install macOS."

The text above provides links to the versions available and, based on this, it does not look like OS X Mavericks is available. You might check out the links above to see if one will work for your Mac instead of OS X Mavericks.

If you previously "purchased" Mavericks from the App Store, you can try searching for it in previous purchases (the Mac you are using must be compatible with Mavericks though).

You can also try booting into Recovery Mode (Command + R) or possibly even (Command + Option + R) with the latter not supposedly requiring to authenticate with an AppleID.

Unfortunately Apple does not seem to have an separate download for Mavericks like it does for macOS 10.7, 10.8, 10.10, 10.11, or 10.12. I would think macOS 10.10 should work for you as it is similar to 10.9, but maybe 10.8 would work depending on whether 10.8 is supported on your specific Mac.

You can try using DiskMaker X to see whether it has an option for creating a bootable macOS 10.9 USB installer. I have no idea if this app still works these days since Apple has made a lot of changes to their macOS installers over the years.

Carefully read the instructions @rayne77 provided. Running the ".pkg" file from the mounted .dmg file only extracts the real installer to the Applications folder. The ".pkg" file is not the actual macOS installer. You must actually run the "Install macOS" application located in the Applications folder. See step #4 of @rayne77's post.

I also am struggling to log in to the App Store, even though I *KNOW* my password... I'm in on my M1 Mac mini without issue and have my password saved in Chrome.

Make sure the older OS is fully patched. You should start your own new thread for this issue.

Any advice? 10.15 last update is "too new" (runs like crap) but 10.9.5 is too old for my son to play Roblox on.

Thanks in advance!!!
