Unknown iCloud error

i recently updated my iPhone 11 pro from iOS 16.2 to 16.3 and in the iCloud settings almost all the apps are turned off from syncing.

if i try to turn them on i get the “unknown error occurred. Please try again later “ message.

i can turn on & off contacts, calendar and Game Center with no problem.

Now the strange thing is that when i check the apps that are turned off, they’ve been updated and completely synced!

I'm only having this problem on my iPhone, everything is fine on all of my other devices! So I'm not sure if this is an ios 16.3 bug or not.

I've also checked other apple ids on this iPhone and i got the same error! So I don’t think it’s an apple id or network issue!

and yes I’ve restored my iPhone with iTunes, reset from the settings and all the other reset methods multiple times and I'm still getting the same error!

I had this same issue.

What solved it for me is to add my phone number again for two factor authentication.

Settings > Your Name > Password & Security

Next to trusted phone number click on “edit” > “add a trusted phone number”

I just added the same phone number that I already use and it was accepted.

Now when I go back to settings it all works.
