Do No Disturb Being displayed When Phone is Not in DND Mode

I have an unusual issue, some of my contacts report that I am in Do Not Disturb mode when they try to iMessage but on my side it is not. I've checked that alerts are not silenced for those contacts, I've checked my Focus modes and the only one I have configured is a daily DnD for 10:15pm - 4:00am. I don't have the driving focus set automatically activate. This seems to happen most often at home in the evenings, but still seems intermittent. I don't usually have the issue while Im at work. At home I am on my wifi network, but I am on wifi at work too. The phone is a 14 Pro Max running IOS 16.1.2.

Hello Lightngsvt,

To help ensure your device is using the latest improvements and fixes be sure to update the iPhone to the latest available iOS version. Currently the latest version is iOS 16.3, and this page can help with updating if needed: Update your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support

1. Back up your device using iCloud or your computer.
2. Plug your device into power and connect to the internet with Wi-Fi.
3. Go to Settings > General, then tap Software Update.
4. If you see more than one software update option available, choose the one that you want to install.
The Settings app on iPhone showing options to update to iOS 15.7 or iOS 16.

5. Tap Install Now. If you see Download and Install instead, tap it to download the update, enter your passcode, then tap Install Now. If you don't know your passcode, learn what to do.

If it occurs on iOS 16.3 without a Focus enabled at the time, the steps below may be able to help resolve things:

1. Head to Settings > Focus.
2. Turn ‘Share Across Devices’ to On if it is currently off.
3. Enable one of the default Focus states, such as Do Not Disturb.
4. Wait a few seconds, then turn that Focus state off
5. Have the contact check and see if they still see the same alert.

Cheers.
