How to delete an "invitee" from calendar list of "invitees" on iphone 13

I am using the iphone 13 calendar to manage my calendar events. When creating the event, you have an option to invite an "invitee" and when you go the next screen, previously selected invitees appear here as well as the ability to add new. There is no way to delete them from this list, why? (You cannot scroll left or right to see a delete button). There should be a way to delete them, I just can't seem to find how you can do this?

Hi Jeff,

I'm so sorry for not being a little more clear in my issue. I use the basic calendar app that is on my iphone 13. In the app, when you want to create a calendar event on a given date, you select the date and you begin to fill in the details. One of the details is the option to add invitees. When I click on that, a new screen opens up with a list of previously invited invitees from past events they were invited to by me (NOT my entire iphone contact or email contact lists, just past invitees). How do I delete specific past invitees from this list so I don't have to see their name anymore? I don't see it at all that you can remove names from this list directly in this area when you are right here in it. I've tried deleting the contact from my phone altogether, which is not what I want to do, and yet they still appear there. I also deleted them from email contacts and that didn't resolve the problem either. (Currently I added them back into my phone contacts). Thank you.

Hello Chris,

Made sure all of my apps are completely closed. went to settings, siri & search, and all toggle switches were set to green/on. I untoggled 'show suggestions' and 'show recents' under 'before searching category'. I also untoggled 'show in look up' under 'content from apple' and untoggled 'allow notifications' under 'suggestions from apple' although I feel these have nothing to do with the calendar invitees suggestions whatsoever but I did it to humor myself lol. I then scrolled down to the calendar app and everything was toggled to green/on and I untoggled everything. I powered down my phone and powered back up and the problem is NOT resolved. So unfortunately, a great, great idea, it just didn't work. Thank you for trying.

Greetings jrsygrl0331,

Could you clarify for us whether you’re looking to delete currently invited contacts from the event or whether you’re looking to delete the suggested contacts? This can help us be sure we’re answering the correct question.

Here’s how to add someone to a calendar event and after tapping Done, you should be taken to a screen where you either tap to add more invitees or manage the ones you have already added.

Invite others to an event
You can invite people to an event you’ve scheduled.
1. Tap the event, then tap Edit near the top of the screen.
2. Tap Invitees.
3. Enter the names or email addresses of people you want to invite, or tap to select Contacts.
Note: For you to send a calendar invitation to a contact, they must have an email address. See Add and use contact information on iPhone.
4. When you’re finished, tap Done.

Thanks.

Hey there jrsygrl0331,

You would not be able to select specific suggested contacts to remove from the list of suggested contacts. These suggestions are being made by Siri. You can turn off all Siri Suggestions for Calendar by following Siri Suggestions on iPhone:

1. Go to Settings  > Siri & Search, scroll down, then select an app.
2. Turn settings on or off."

Have a good one!
