both my iPhone and my MacBook have keychain turned on, but they are not "talking" to each other - if I change a password on one, it doesn't change for the same site on the other. I've gone through the steps on the Apple site, with no luck. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Let's turn off iCloud Keychain on both your devices. Restart them, and turn it back on. This should help it sync:
"Turn on iCloud Keychain on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
Find your saved passwords and passkeys on your iPhone or iPad"

If the issue persist, can you provide a few more details? Which iOS and macOS versions are you currently using? When did you firs notice this? Also, is everything else syncing to iCloud without any issues?
