Photo Stream disappeared since iOS 16.3

It seems my Photo Stream disappeared since iOS 16.3, but no support document I found yet could explain why.

The whole photo album is gone, although searching for photo stream in preferences on iPhone or iPad shows a corresponding entry the option itself vanished.

I‘d prefer Photo Stream instead of iCloud photos because I prefer the 1000 photos, 30 days rule that comes with my photo stream. And photo stream does not consume iCloud space, and cloud space is always scarce!

Are there any hints why photo stream disappeared? Any chance to get it back?

On my Apple TV there‘s still an option to see recent pictures, although the photo stream there stopped showing newer pictures (I assume since the day I switched to iOS 16.3). Maybe it‘s related to the advanced data protection feature for iCloud that I switched on recently?

Any help is gratefully appreciated!

I today had a chat with Apple Support. They confirmed what I assumed earlier: Photo Stream and advanced data protection are not able at the same time. So I requested this as a feature.

As far as I understand there‘s no (real) technical reason for it: shared iCloud photo albums or iCloud Photos still work with advanced data protection.

Let‘s see what happens in future iOS versions then!
