iPhone 6 is forever limited to iOS 12.

There are no updates to iOS 13 or later.

There are no hardware updates.

For newer iOS, your options are a newer (used, refurb) or new iPhone.

iPhone 8 and newer are required for iOS 16.

Any recent iPhone will be substantially more capable than an iPhone 6.
