i forgot my iCloud email password and can't set it up on a new device. How can I reset it? I know my Apple ID password, but not my email password. If I reset it on my Mac will I lose settings on my iPhone?

iCloud, including iCloud email, uses your Apple ID and password. If you only have one Apple ID, it would be the same ID and password as you used to log into this forum. If you have another and have forgotten the ID or password, see the following:

Your Apple ID is the same password as iCloud and it worked when you logged into this site. 😉

If your email ends in "@iclloud.com" then the password is the same as your Apple ID. It is possible that you have more than one Apple ID and have two passwords because of that, but you would still use the instructions in If you forgot your Apple ID password - Apple Support for the forgotten iCloud email password.
