Admin password

I have updates to install but don't know the admin password. I have tried all passwords that I usually use. I am able to unlock after sleeping or restarting

Hey there

if you don't have a Password Simpley skip it by pressing Enter on the keyboard or the continue button on the window

just make sure it's empty

but if you do have a password or you have an another admin user for the mac ask them for the password and fill it.

i hope this was helpful!

Have a nice day

The Admin Password is usually the Password Used when the computer was First Setup when it was Brand New.

Thanks, I did go in and change the password, what it changed is the password to wake up my computer when it goes to sleep, or when restarting. I have again tried this as the admin password requested for updates, but the screen just shakes. When I go to Users, it shows me as Current user and also as Other user (but both as Admin). I honestly don't remember ever setting up an actual Admin password when setting up my Mac, but am usually good with my passwords. Have a few different ones I use, and have a Password safe

The " Owner Account of this computer "  has that privilege to add, remove, upgrade or downgrade accounts. This would include adding more Admin Accounts and / or downgrading an ADDED Admin account

Set up users, guests, and groups on Mac

Normally the " Owner Account  " is the very first Account used when the Computer was Very First Setup as New and out of the box.

Adding additional Admin Account can be done there after.
