Account recovery and old trusted devices

I went to erase an old iPhone 4 of mine. I forgot the password for the original apple ID associated with it and started an account recovery. At one point it asked me to use a different device to send a code to. It listed all the old devices originally linked to it. It listed most of them and were old phones of mine, but 2 of my ex-husbands phones and his Mac were both listed as well. How do I delete these? They are not linked in my trusted devices on my apple ID or my iCloud. I cannot find them anywhere except on that one pop up during the recovery.

Hello bh1986,

Once you have completed the account recovery process, you should be able to remove trusted devices using the steps below:

1. Go to Settings  > [your name].
A list of the devices associated with your Apple ID appears near the bottom of the screen.
2. To see if a listed device is trusted, tap it, then look for “This device is trusted and can receive Apple ID verification codes.”
3. To remove a device, tap it, then tap Remove from Account.

Removing a trusted device ensures that it can no longer display verification codes and that access to iCloud (and other Apple services on the device) is blocked until you sign in again with two-factor authentication.

You can also find those steps in this resource: Manage two-factor authentication for your Apple ID from iPhone - Apple Support

If you still aren't able to remove those trusted devices, you'll want to reach out to Apple Support: Contact - Official Apple Support They'll be in the best position to look into this further.

Take care.
