Why did Apple reduce choices from a slider to set times in Screen Saver pref pane?

We used to be able to move a slider to choose when the screen saver would start. Now we have selectable preset times. What is the rational behind reducing user choice here?

Screen lock may have been a slider also? Both are now preset times.

Thanks.

Who knows, but apple prefers we have fewer options... hw long did they insist a one button mouse was good enough?

Perhaps set it in Terminal...
