I've looked through several questions on this and while both MMS Messaging and Group Messaging is turned on for my phone, I am still receiving individual responses from members of the group. Can someone tell me why? I am on version 16.2

Are all the contacts in the group message Apple users? If not, are there any Android users and are the individual texts coming from Android users?
It looks like you checked out the article about sending group text message. From that article, there's a section that says the following:
Group SMS
These messages also appear in green text bubbles and go through your carrier. Group SMS messages don’t support multimedia attachments, like photos or videos. All responses in a group SMS are sent as individual text messages and the recipients can’t see the other responses from the group.
