Yamaha Sound bar YAS 108 Bluetooth not syncing

Please keep in mind that I am no expert in this area (we are all Apple users, like yourself in this community). Am thinking your request surely deserves a response.

Maybe those with expertise may join the discussion, once underway. It would be helpful if you let us know which Mac OS is installed on your MacBook Pro M1.

You might want to check the directions that came with the soundbar, to become familiar with how it works, and what you can do with it.

Eg: If the soundbar works with Mac, is there any software (eg: an app) to install on the Mac, or relevant MacOS compatibility info ? Eg: You may need a MacOS update.

Else: check online for any info. from Yamaha, about how to use the soundbar.

Mmmm .. changing the sound output settings (link above) may be well worth trying.

The Yamaha may show up as an output device you can choose in the settings, so the sound goes to the soundbar instead of through the Mac's inbuilt speakers.
