wifi calling

When I try to use wifi calling when on airplane mode, I get a message telling me to connect to a wifi network or disable airplane mode. I was in this community a couple of days ago and they said to contact my mobile provider. They did so many checks. When I am on wifi and on airplane mode, I am able to stream and do everything else on the web. But, I cannot text or make calls when on wifi. My wifi calling switch is on and I have reset the network. I have reset my modem. I have roaming enabled. Is it possible that my phone is broken? My phone simply does not think it is connected to wifi when texting or making a call. Thank you for your help.
