I bought my mac in 2021 Nov. Until last Saturday everything was fine since then if I close the lid no user input can be done(mouse or keyboard) after I hard reset with the touch id button it works again perfectly until closing the lid again. I have tried pretty much everything that was read on this forum regarding similar issues. Anybody got any help?

I may have described my issue misleadingly. When I close the lid and then open it again the built-in trackpad and built-in keyboard won't take any input(I cant move the mouse and cant type anything). However, yesterday I figured out that if I have a bluetooth mouse connected the bt mouse can move the mouse on the screen but the built-in not.
So bring a 1500 dollar 14 month old macbook into service? On reddit many consider this as a problem relating to the logic board. I mean if it is not a software issue I am outraged. Of course I am out of warranty but yet this thing is 14 month old...and I paid 1500 dollar for it, its not some 300 dollar windows thing.

The following explains the requirement of using your Mac with its lid closed.
To use your Mac with the display closed, you need to connect your power adapter or connect an external display that also charges your Mac, such as the Apple Studio Display or 23.7-inch LG UltraFine 4K Display.
If the issue persists, test with a different keyboard and mouse.

Thanks for clarifying. One thing you can do is to boot using safe mode. When in safe mode put the device to sleep and wake it again and see if the issue persists.
If you restart the Mac do the built-in device work as expected?

They'll be able to explore why this issue comes back.
