I cannot send audio messages when I press on the microphone in the right of the text box. It will not send it. It only does voice to text. How can I fix this?

Please input a Phone number first.
The Voice Message (Microphone) will only get activated for iMessage and not for SMS/MMS.
That means after you type in a Phone number or Apple ID in the "To:" field that has been registered for iMessage (Apple Devices) then the microphone icon will get activated for you to send Voice Messages

I can only send a voice to text message since I have been doing that I can no longer press the microphone in the right of the text box to send an audio message. It will not record my voice and send audio messages anymore.
