Cannot boot into DFU Mode iMac 2019 type iMac19,1

Imac 2019 running Ventura 11.0 will not upgrade to 11.1 and has a volume mismatch error therefore the machine has to be nuked and recovered . I am trying to do this using my M1 MacBook and DFU mode .

This are the steps I have been taking

Following the standard process of

  • disconnecting power lead
  • pressing power button for 3 seconds
  • connecting power lead and continue to press power button for 3 seconds

The system either boots into an Internet Recovery Mode

or Makes a loud noise spinning the fan with the apple boot logo and sound then crashes

or displays apple logo, fans start racing , reboots itself and reloads OSX for login -

Note I want to use the Apple Configurator for Recovery hence the need to get the target iMac into DFU Mode.

I hope someone out there has found the trick to this challenge -
