AirPlay connected to devices, Not playing

Have been having issues with wireless airplay that used to be flawless until it failed lately. Whatever device I try, iPhones (SE3rd. / 13 Pro) or iPad, it shows connected status on both screens of device and TV but nothing transmits, it’s the same issue whether I use it through an Apple TV box (2)or a Roku streamer (2). I got a third party Lightning Digital AV to HDMI converter and connected through cable, no issues there.(so, no HDCP copyright protected contents)

wireless connection: (same hardware for over a year and a half without problems) 2 separate routers (T-Mobile home internet gateway/router and Ethernet connected T-P link router) Surfshark VPN on iPad and one iPhone.

attempts: reset, turn off & unplug routers. Reboot iPhone. Switch from one router to another. Remove VPN. Use device not loaded with VPN.

First image is that of a Roku streamer box.

Second & third from AppleTV streamer box.
