Print Booklet in Mac ?!

Hi there, read several answers, like finding Booklet in the print menu in Pages (dont have that, running os12.6.1 with Pages 12.2.1)

also, obvs I can 'print' a PDF and open it in Acrobat DC v. 2022 and open the Print Menu and click on Booklet - but then I can't export as PDF; windows allows for this and my copy shop does the conversion for me but it would be nice to do this on my all powerful Mac with all the $$ premium software I have and already paid for instead of having to buy an additional app for 20$ (booklet 2)

Oh, or my favorite - manually arranging the pages in PREVIEW

anyone ?!

WTF Apple...(:

Ok but no one (here) is asking them to add a feature, I don't understand why they remove a feature that another OS has.

So this disqualifies your "budget and resources" argument.

They might not have the time and resources to implement a feature, but they do have the time and resources to remove a feature and/or delegate to others to have a feature removed ?

makes sense ? nope.

At least let me have this feature with a Software I am paying for (have apple re-instate it for subscribers...?) and not force me to purchase additional software = third PDF editor = makes the OS bulkier, right, cause more Apps that need to administered.

The more I write about this the less sense it makes, especially from a Budget and Resources view but also from User friendless and sleek OS.

I'll explain this again tho:

• created a document in Pages and generated a PDF.

OBVS I can print this as Booklet in Acrobat DC and take these pages to the copy shop

• What I cannot do is generate a PDF booklet in Pages, Preview or Acrobat DC and take the File to the copy shop

-> For obvs reasons it easier to print from file rather than scanning and printing (aka copying) the pages. Not to mention quality deterioration.

I can though generate a PDF Booklet from a PDF with windows Acrobat DC. Adobe / Print / Print to PDF

Thanks for your reply though.

Also, still no Booklet feature but I'll update to 12.6.2. now and see what gives (:

Adobe Acrobat DC and Acrobat Reader DC have a booklet printing feature available when clicking the print tool on their toolbar which produces an Adobe-specific print panel different from that provided by Apple.

The macOS Print panel in Pages and Preview offers Booklet printing to a printer, but not to a PDF. Panel from Monterey 12.6.2 shown.

To go from Pages directly to a PDF booklet requires converting to PDF and sending that data stream directly to imposition software that can generate a booklet. You may find that your $20 Create Booklet 2 offers a menu item on that Print panel PDF button menu that does just that for you.

Apple strives to ship a free operating system. They couldn't continue to do that if they added all of the features that users believe they should add, and then users would complain about the cost and the size of the operating system download. It doesn't matter that Apple has a huge revenue stream. Product teams must operate within their budget, available resources, and project deliverables.
