I have installed a Meross garage door opener and everything works fine, Meross app, Homekit and hey Siri.
But I cant get it to work with Apple carplay.
Do I need to do anything to get an icon to show up in Carplay?

Similar issue. It seemed to happen with me when I installed either 16.3 or 16.3.1 on my iPhone. Not only did my CarPlay screen lose my garage door button Siri Suggestion (which had worked perfectly until then), I also now can’t open it by talking to Siri on CarPlay. If I do, it tells me I’ll “need to unlock my iPhone first, but I don’t recommend doing that while you’re driving.” The same command to my Apple Watch works fine. Also, I can tell Siri to close the garage door in CarPlay, and that works as well.
I’m really disappointed in losing the button on my CarPlay dash because that was the easiest, fastest, and most reliable way for me to open the garage door from the car.

It needs to be added to HomeKit as a Garage door, and will only become visible when you are close to home. At other times you can use a voice activated command, “open garage door” (or whatever you have called it in HomeKit), to activate via Siri.

• “Open the garage door”
• “Did I leave the garage door open?”
• “Close the garage door”

Well, kind of. It did not work when I installed it. But when I went for a drive and came back home it turned up on the carplay screen. After that it has worked fine. It is only visibel when I am getting close to home
If you read my post Siri was not the problem. My question was hoe to be able to tap on the carplay screen to make it open the garage
I did that and it does not show on Apple CarPlay

Were you able to figure this out? My Meross was working fabulously on CarPlay until 2 days ago. Now it won't appear. I have not done any updates nor made any changes. Loved it but now, not so much. It does show up on Home app and work fine from there. I did make sure the Siri Suggestions was toggled on. Perplexed.
If you add the Meross Garage widget to the Apple Widgets screen (pull as far left as possible), you will be able to use it from the left-most screen on Carplay.
