Inertia scrolling doesn’t work when using iPad Pro Magic Keyboard and 2022 MacBook Air

Inertia scrolling doesn’t work when using iPad Pro Magic Keyboard and 2022 MacBook Air.

Let me first state that the basics of Universal control are working. I can use my iPad Pro Magic Keyboard and Trackpad to control my MacBook Air. However, the inertia scrolling simply doesn’t work when controlling the Mac. If i go back to using the iPad Pro, the scrolling is smooth and fluid.

If I use my wireless Magic Trackpad paired to my Mac, the scrolling is perfect on both my Mac and iPad Pro. However, If I pair the same wireless trackpad to my iPad Pro, i get the same issue, in that the inertia scrolling only works on my iPad Pro but not the mac.

I’m assuming this is an issue between how iPadOS handles the handoff with the Mac.

This is super annoying as, I would love to simply be able to use my iPad Pro on the Magic Keyboard to control my iPad and Mac so that I don‘t need a separated trackpad/keyboard for my Mac on my desk.

Please Apple. Help fix this issue for us iPad Pro/Mac desk setup - users …

All apps and in every interaction. When using the trackpad on the iPad Pro Magic Keyboard to control my Mac in universal control, inertia scrolling simply doesn’t work. I’ve tried all the settings like you suggested but nothing works.

a real fail in my opinion as universal control is one of my favourite features that Apple has introduced in years. Even four finger gestures like swiping from app to app doesn’t work with the trackpad on the iPad Pro Magic Keyboard.

I’ve visited multiple Apple stores and spoken to multiple geniuses and they all agreed that this is simply something Apple has missed and not addressed.

Greetings c_icton,

Are you noticing this in all apps on your Mac when using your iPad’s keyboard and trackpad? Are you able to adjust any Mouse & Trackpad settings on your Mac when using the iPad’s keyboard and trackpad? Change Pointer Control settings for accessibility on Mac

To change these settings, choose Apple menu > System Settings, click Accessibility in the sidebar, then click Pointer Control on the right. (You may need to scroll down.)

Thanks.
