I've been using preview (French version = Aperçu) to crop pdfs for years. Recently I've found that when I try to crop an image the zone I've defined with the marquee jumps to the bottom left corner of the image when I crop.
The image I'm left with is the same size as the marquee but only the bottom left corner of the image is left after cropping.
When I crop a JPEG this doesn't happen. Only with a pdf.
Has anyone an idea what's happeneing?

If you click on the pen icon to the right of the “pivot“ icon it opens another menu bar with tools one of which is a dotted rectangle. That allows you to crop.
I see. Well, in the non-French version of Preview, you can't select a zone.
Perhaps you mean something else? You can't crop PDFs.
I've been cropping pdfs in Preview (the French version in any case) for years.
Open a pdf - select a zone you want to keep and press Commande “k“
