previewing Apple Music

I can't listen to a song to decide if it's the version I want when I click the preview button.

Immediately i receive a message to bundle or start a free trial. Either way, it's a commitment to another payment.

It's 2023 and I can't listen to any song individually prior to a decision to purchase?

iMac 24″, macOS 13.0

You need to use the regular iTunes Store, not Apple Music, to do that. The subscription service doesn't charge for songs individually.
