Hello Dawnmjk,

Welcome to Apple Support Communities!

We want to help so you can send GIF again from your new iPhone.

Make sure you're taking these steps:

"Add a GIF from #images

Use #images in the Messages app to find and share GIFs with your contacts. Here's how:

  1. Open Messages, tap compose message, and enter a contact or tap an existing conversation.
  2. Tap #images icon.
  3. To search for a specific GIF, tap Find images, then enter a keyword, like birthday.
  4. Tap the GIF to add it to your message.
  5. Tap send icon to send.

GIFs from #images animate only in the Messages app on Apple devices."

We hope this helps so you can send GIFs from your device.

Cheers!

Are you a Verizon customer? If so, your MMS and Group Messaging may have gotten messed up. Try this:

Log in to your Verizon account. Select "Account" at the top of the screen-"My Plan"-"Blocks." After selecting the appropriate line, select "block services"- then toggle on "block picture and video messaging." After saving, wait a minute or two then toggle it back to off. After everything saves, a phone restart may or may not be necessary.

If that doesn't work, contact Verizon directly.

Meanwhile, words can be very powerful.
