Email (gmail) issues after OS upgrade.

Ok, this is so annoying. It was working just fine and god knows what happened. When read or delete any email messages on my mail app on iPhone, it used to get updated when I log into gmail.com, and now all the messages I have read or deleted, show up as it is when I log into web browser Gmail. how do I fix that when I read or delete any email from my iPhone it should be the same status when I log into Gmail.

Hi tejalshah30,

Thanks for contacting Apple Support Communities!

We understand that you're deleting email from your iPhone but when you go to the website for Gmail, you still see the messages you've deleted.

Do you know if this is an iMap or POP account?

Are your messages set to be deleted or archived on your iPhone? This article will show you how to check: Delete emails on your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support

"Set Trash or Archive as your default option

Depending on the type of email account you have, you might see Archive instead of Trash when you try to delete emails. You can edit where your deleted messages go in your Mail settings:

  1. In the Settings app, tap Mail.
  2. Tap Accounts.
  3. Tap your account.
  4. Tap your account once more.
  5. Tap Advanced.
  6. Select Deleted Mailbox or Archive Mailbox to send discarded messages there."

We look forward to your reply.

Cheers!

Hello tejalshah30,

Please remove the Gmail account and add it again using the steps here: Add an email account to your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

"How to set up your email account automatically

If you use an email provider like iCloud, Google, or Yahoo, Mail can automatically set up your email account with just your email address and password. Here's how:

  1. Go to Settings > Mail, then tap Accounts.
  2. Tap Add Account, then select your email provider.
  3. Enter your email address and password.
  4. If you see Next, tap Next and wait for Mail to verify your account.
  5. If you see Save, tap Save.

If you don't see your email provider, tap Other to add your account manually."

What is the exact iOS version that you have on your iPhone? Please go to Settings > General > About > Version.

We look forward to the results.

Take care.

First of all, thank you for replying. Ok, it's not just deleting messages.

ok let me explain to you, I view all my Gmail messages on the mail app on my phone. before I used to read or delete any type of action, all of the actions were totally sync to when I logged into my Gmail account on my PC from gmail.com and now every message I read it still shows unread and every message I have moved to trash shows up anyway in gmail.com so it's getting annoying now. what is the point of me checking my mail then? This was not the case, all of this started happening after the software update.
