If i select the option for forgot password it still tells me failed attempt and locks it again.

If i select the option for forgot password it still tells me failed attempt and locks it again. Pls help. I can’t change my screentime password.

With having completed those steps and still unable to reset the passcode, you'll want to continue through the steps listed below. While these steps come from the article for having forgot your device passcode, they are the right next steps for reaching a resolution. You can find these steps outlined in more detail via the link below. Restoring the device via this steps will erase the content on your iPhone. Any information synced to iCloud or an email address will be recoverable upon signing in to your accounts.


  1. "Make sure that you have a computer (Mac or PC)"
  2. "Turn off your iPhone"
  3. "Put your iPhone in recovery mode"
  4. "Restore your iPhone"

If the above doesn't work, when you first create a screen time passcode it prompts for an optional Apple ID to recover the passcode if you forget it. This doesn’t have to be the same Apple ID that the phone is using; it might be a parent’s Apple ID, for example. This is the Apple ID you need to reset the Screen Time passcode. If you didn’t set one up (it IS optional) or don’t know that Apple ID then you can’t recover the screen time passcode; the only option is to reset the phone to factory settings and set up the phone as New→Restore your iOS device to factory settings - Apple Support
