Apple Watch stuck on charging screen

After charging my Apple Watch (series 6) overnight, it’s still on the screen with the green lighting bolt while charging and it changes to red when I get rid of the watch from the adapter. I tried holding the side button to see if I could get it to startup but after pressing the button for about 10 seconds or so, it wouldn’t turn on. Not sure what to do about this. Please help if you can, thanks.
