Why does website images not load properly if/when all of the experimental WebKit features are turned off or not on default settings.

Because some of them are not exactly experimental. Whatever possessed you to turn everything off? Messing around in the Develop menu can get you into real trouble if you don’t know exactly what you are doing.
Experimental suggest that the features are not necessary to the normal functions. Any items that affect normal operations should not be included in this list. Apparently you are an expert in this area. Which particular features are experimental and which are not ?
In the Experimental Features menu scroll all the way to the bottom and select Reset ALL to Defaults. Now see if your problem is solved. If so, leave things alone.
